“Taka Chu”

In eastern Peru, 'taka chu', two words of Quechua origin that mean 'the hit', merge to give its name to tacacho: one of the most popular dishes in the jungle prepared with fried green plantain and crushed into a round dough , seasoned with pork lard and accompanied with jerky, the name by which smoked pork is known throughout the country.

Tacacho with cecina is usually served with Amazonian chorizo ​​and cocona salt. Its consumption varies according to the region where it is prepared. In San Martin and Madre de Dios it is cooked for breakfast and accompanied with coffee or a fruit drink, while in other regions of the jungle it is consumed at lunch or dinner. It has a high nutritional level that provides protein, calcium, magnesium and phosphorus; that's why some health specialists consider it to be healthier than chicken and beef.

The popularity of this dish has crossed the jungle borders, currently it can be tasted in various areas of Peru and in some countries of the region. This shows that our gastronomy pleases many palates worldwide.

The ingredients of this delicious meal are: 10 green bananas, 3 tablespoons of butter, 250 grams of Chicharrón cut into pieces, 500 grams of jerky (pork), Salt.

For this delicious typical dish of the jungle such as tacaco with jerky, we are going to first peel the bananas and then cut the slabs, fry until they are cooked inside, mash them with a mallet, add the butter, mix well, incorporate the pork rinds cut into small pieces chunks. After integrating the ingredients well with your hands, prepare the tacacho balls of the size you prefer large or small. In addition, fry the jerky in a frying pan, to serve with the hot tacacho.

My eating habits are:

In the morning I only have papaya juice with my chicken bread, in the afternoons it varies as ají de gallina, chicken with wine, fried chicken, fish, etc. At night I can order my hamburger or prepare a bread with cheese and milk client.
